Liv's Cranberry Oatmeal Bread

Whenever I click on a recipe blog, I always hit that “Jump to Recipe” button. We don’t have that button on our blog, so here’s the recipe!

Liv's Cranberry Oatmeal Bread:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup sour cream or yogurt
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup to ¾ cups brown sugar (I always do ½, but I don’t like super-sweet things
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp orange zest (basically 1 orange’s worth)
  • ¾ cup fresh cranberries (can substitute dried cranberries)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional, can substitute pecans or sliced almonds)

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients in the order they’re listed. Pour into a greased 13” x 13” baking pan and bake for 25 - 30 minutes. Makes 16 servings. It’s always best served warm.
