Make Your Own Grocery Bag Ghosts

Are you looking for a quick and easy Halloween craft for the kiddos? Why not make your own grocery bag ghosts for some last minute house haunting?

What You'll Need:

White Plastic Grocery Bags

  • Scissors
  • Black Permanent Marker
  • Clear Tape
  • Twine or Yarn
  • Bamboo Skewers or Straight Sticks (optional)

Gather up all the white grocery bags from your stash (and your friends) and cut the seam off the bottom of each bag.

Cut up one side and spread plastic flat in one layer. Next, cut out the biggest piece of plastic that you can (that doesn't have anything printed on it).

Then crumple up the remaining plastic into a ball and place it in the center of your large plastic rectangle. You can add another whole bag if you want your ghost to have a bigger noggin.

Gather up the plastic around the balled up scraps and tie it off with the bottom seam of the bag that you cut off earlier. This will form the head of the ghost. Then tuck the ends of the tie into the folds of the plastic "body" to hide them.

Use the permanent marker to draw fun and spooky faces.

You can tape a loop of string to the back of their heads and string up your ghosts as hanging decorations or as a garland. Another great option is to put them on bamboo skewers to haunt your house plants or walkway.

Happy crafting,

Liv
